OstroVit NAC VEGE - a valuable source of N-acetyl-L-cysteine
NAC - N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a derivative of cysteine - a sulfur amino acid, which occurs naturally in the human body. N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a substrate for the production of glutathione - a tripeptide, which is an endogenous compound that is made of glycine, L-glutamic acid and L-cysteine, and has a strong antioxidant potential. Since glutathione supplementation is ineffective and the L-cysteine supplied to the body is an unstable compound, the best solution seems to be the use of N-acetyl-L-cysteine, which is a precursor of glutathione and has a positive effect on the availability of the substance in the body. Due to the fact that NAC does not occur naturally in food, it seems beneficial, especially among physically active people, to include a dietary supplement containing a valuable compound in the diet.
