OstroVit NAC 200 g - valuable source of N-acetyl-L-cysteine

NAC - N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a derivative of cysteine- a sulfur amino acid that occurs naturally in the human body. N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a substrate for the production of glutathione - a tripeptide, which is an endogenous compound that is composed of glycine, L-glutamic acid and L-cysteine and has a strong antioxidant potential. Since glutathione supplementation is ineffective and L-cysteine supplied to the body is an unstable compound, the best solution seems to be the use of N-acetyl-L-cysteine which is a precursor of glutathione and has a beneficial effect on the availability of the substance in the body. Due to the fact that NAC does not occur naturally in food, it seems beneficial, especially among physically active people, to include a dietary supplement containing a valuable compound in the menu.
